A Look Inside: Intersec 2017

Vanderbilt attended Intersec at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, exhibiting alongside its partner in the region, BASS (Business Automation & Security Systems). Intersec is the world’s leading trade fair for Security, Safety and Fire Protection and has a reputation for producing quality visitors. This year was no exception, with a record number of attendees.

This is the second year that Vanderbilt has attended Intersec and supported our partners in that region to introduce our solutions to new customers. The Middle East is an important region for deploying Vanderbilt solutions with the opportunity to participate in large projects and serving existing customers.

NUMBER CRUNCHING

Working on the stand over the three-day event were Martin Hahn (Head of International Sales) and Mark Russen (Sales Manager). According to Mark: “We saw a good mix of new and existing customers coming to the stand, some of whom had good links to some major local developers and also the Dubai & Abu Dhabi police departments! Unsurprising the majority of visitors (64 percent) were from the GCC countries and the rest were mostly split amongst Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East.

“There were a few that were not familiar with the Vanderbilt brand; however, it was pleasing that the majority did know us and were aware of our origins. Perhaps it was this intrigue that led to our stand being constantly busy – unlike some of our competitors who were, by comparison, fairly quiet on occasions – and by the end of the three days we had accumulated almost 100 quality leads!”

GET CONNECTED

Martin continues: “A common theme of interest among the many visitors was Vanderbilt’s ability to integrate our access control platform with our own video solution as well as independent VMS platforms. We also noticed that there is a growing expectation from customers for security products to be ‘connected’ to platforms supporting life and safety system at PSIM level, for ease of monitoring and site management.”

Intersec was a successful exhibition and Vanderbilt look forward to exhibiting again next year.
