Examining indication and control devices in Vanderbilt’s SPC

The SPC indication and control devices can be used to signal the status of elements of the system, or to control elements of the system. They can also be used on blocking devices for keypads to enhance security.

Key Switch

The SPCE110.100 is a universal key switch expander with two tri-color LEDs, a three-position key switch, and a buzzer. The programmable user interface indicates the configured status information with LEDs. For instance, key switch position and area setting states. It also enables activation of application specific processes by changing the key switch position.

An example of this would be unlocking the keypad or indication expander, the setting of an area, opening or closing a gate. The expander also provides one programmable volt free relay output with either NO or NC terminal.

The devices are wired to the Xbus and once online can be configured through the webpage or other programming interfaces.

Indication & Control

The SPCE120.100 is a universal display expander with 16 tri-color LEDs, four keys, an integrated card reader and a buzzer. In the linked mode with a keypad, the LEDs indicate the status of four areas in one glance. The areas can be directly set or unset with the assigned function keys. In flexible mode, the programmable user interface indicates the configured status information with LEDs.

For instance, open zones and area setting states. This enables activation of application specific processes by pressing the assigned function keys. An example of this would be the setting of an area, or opening or closing a gate. With the integrated card reader, the indication or operation can be enabled for authorized users only by presenting a valid proximity card. The expander also provides one programmable zone that can be configured for different zone monitoring requirements.

The devices are wired to the Xbus. Once online they can be configured through the webpage, or through other programming interfaces.
